About Heather

Heather Blair Jones spent most of her youth in Albuquerque, NM. She attended the Albuquerque Academy and studied voice, piano, and drama.
At 18, Heather won a music scholarship to study voice at Ithaca College in New York and received her degree in 1991. Heather toured extensively with the Ithaca College Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the prestigious Ithaca College Choir. For the next 10 years, she freelanced as a musician and a teacher. She also became a member of the New

Mexico Symphony Chorus. In 1998, she was hired as a lead female singer/ dancer for the successful international corporate show band, the Pink Flamingos. During this time Heather discovered her love for art and began studying painting in pastels with artist/instructor, Deborah Christensen.

In the fall of 1999 she moved to Nashville to study the craft of songwriting and pursue her career as a singer. Heather signed her first publishing contract and produced her first CD with her own original songs. To listen to samples of Heather's music, click here.
While in Nashville, Heather continued to study pastel painting and began studying watercolor with artist/instructor, Gail McDaniel. To view some of Heather's artwork, click here.

In the summer of 2004, a move back to Albuquerque made it possible for Heather to focus on her other passion - painting the landscape. Heather now works as a mother, an artist (pastel, watercolor, acrylics and graphic art), and a singer/songwriter. While focusing on her art career, Heather performs frequently in the Albuquerque area. To find out where HBJ is playing live, click here.
